Description
Getting to the start of Powerslave isn't necessarily easy. Most people ride up the upper portion of West Giveout Forest Service Road to access it. The first mile of Powerslave is mellow, and most is through beautiful forest with some large old growth trees. Expect tons of downed logs each spring and early summer in the first mile, until the trail crew has had a chance to clear them out. There's then a hike-a-bike up to a small peak in the middle section. At that point the trail heads down and gets steep quick, with some loose sections, including a section with loose shale. The rest of the trail is fun downhill with roots.
