One of the best and newest linkups in Tahoe now that Carson To Tahoe (C2T) is complete and can be linked with the Tahoe Rim Trail - Mt. Rose to Hobart Road (Marlette Lake Road/NF 38). Shuttle needed. Expansive views of Tahoe and the desert as you travel through diverse ecosystems - above mountain lakes, through desert brush, amongst lush forests, and alongside alpine meadows.

From the alpine meadows of Mount Rose to the desert of Carson City, this trail offers an exhilarating mix of high mountain singletrack and expansive views of Lake Tahoe and the Nevada desert. From the pine forests to the rugged canyon paths, this 30-mile ride encapsulates the diverse beauty and challenging terrain of the the east shore in one epic adventure.

The route starts from Mount Rose Meadows, and is almost exclusively singletrack trails with one short climb on a forest road. You know it's a long ride when you see a sign that says Carson is 13 miles away and its all downhill until you arrive.

Park at Mt Rose meadows. Take the TRT past Marlette Peak into you get to the big intersection where five trails branch off. Take the one heading slightly downhill to the immediate right of the dirt road - this is the Cap to Tahoe or Carson To Tahoe (C2T). When you reach the end of Carson To Tahoe (C2T) take a right towards Kings Canyon.
