Palmer Park hosts many races. Make sure to check before riding! One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.

Overview

Did I mention it's easy to follow? You'll hit some good stuff, have great views of Pikes Peak and plenty of alternative lines to make it spicy.

Need to Know

Super busy on the weekends.

Description

This course starts on the north side of the park near the trailhead off of Brenner Pt. Start the course by taking Greencrest Trail (Lazy Land) to an immediate technical climb. Climb for about 0.75 miles and keep right towards the Yucca Flats and the off leash dog area. You'll have two punchy ups on rock and then pop out on a doubletrack, hang a left to cut through the parking lot.

Cut across the lot looking for a trail marker slighty left for "Edna Mae" near the car entrance. Take this down, cross over the first trail onto Templeton Trail (Edna Mae on signs). Knowing the trail will help you as this is one obstacle after another for the next half mile. There are a lot of alternate lines as well as social trails.

You'll find gradual downhill around 1.6 miles as you descend to Edna Mae Bennet Nature Trail. You'll have a local favorite downhill switchback to the left and then open it up!

After half a mile of downhill, you'll pop out near the Paseo Road trailhead. Cross the street to climb Grandview Trail. At three miles, look for East Cheyenne Trail on your right. If you hit the mesa, you've gone to far. Once you descend, have fun in what feels like a cut through stone versus a trail. You'll meet up with Cheyenne Trail at mile 3.3 to climb back to Grandview Trail.

At 3.9 miles, Grandview Trail will split, take the right for a bit. At 4.1 miles, you'll see an impressive right hand switchback into a rock drop onto Cheyenne Trail. Have fun, it all rolls! Take it all the way to Cheyenne Connector at mile 4.75 to a tight left turn. Rejoin Grandview Trail at mile 5 with left turn back to the Paseo Trailhead.

Cross the same way you did before, right in front of the gate to a left turn but take the left of the two trails. Do not take the trail you came down on earlier from Edna Mae Bennet Nature Trail.

Cut through the stables parking lot to Palmer Point Trail on your left. Get your pedal on through various uphill and downhill tech as you circumvent the north side of Palmer Park. Look for a hard left at mile 6.9 back to the Brenner Pl. trailhead.

You're done! Now go session and do it again.
