A good long way to ride Idlewild, getting roughly 18 miles and a bit over 2k of vert.
Description
Head up
Meadow Trail to
Serendipity. Climb until hitting
Yankee Doodle Trail. Ascend Yankee through a couple of road crossings until you hit the top (marked by some wooden skinnies and a nice view). Exit off Yankee by heading on a small trail north behind the skinnies. You'll hit a doubletrack road and start heading towards Corona Pass Road.
Go through the intersection and climb towards Corona Pass and the top of
Broken Thumb. Once you hit the creek crossing on Corona, you know you have made it to the top of
Broken Thumb. This is a great lunch spot, and the creek feels amazing mid ride.
Start heading back down
Broken Thumb for a fast, loose downhill and then traverse across to the top of
Twisted Ankle. Continue downhill until you hit
South Fork Loop and take a right all the way down to the creek. Pass the long bridge and add on the bonus
Burnout Loop (ride it clockwise). Head back out to the long bridge over Ranch Creek and take the doubletrack (Southfork Loop) back out to
Meadow Trail.
