Overview

Lathrop State Park gets its first bike-optimized trails with the Roadrunner, Osprey, and Jackaloop trails. These are mostly easy and sandy flow trails, but there are a few side hits for the more advanced riders, a rock garden or two, and a couple of steep switchbacks on the hogback.

Description

You can park along the road or back by the Hogback trailhead and ride in along the gravel road. From the equestrian trail, hop on the Roadrunner Trail and then climb up and over Hogback, which offers great views of the Spanish Peaks.

Take Osprey counterclockwise and when you return to the junction, loop it once more to hit Jackaloop in the more fun direction. Keep your eyes peeled as a couple of rocks offer the chance for airtime.

When you're done cruising the backside, climb back over the Hogback to return to the road.

Bikes are not allowed on the Hogback trail system which does connect to these trails.
