Overview
The Bean Peaks is a new trail system (as of June 2024) with a number of downhill, one-way trails of varying difficulty. This loop combines three of the uphill trails with three of the moderate downhill trails.
Need to Know
There is a sizeable parking lot at the trailhead adjacent to the White Spar campground. This parking area also serves other trails nearby.
Description
The route begins at Hub #1 and follows the uphill trail
Green Bean #007 to Hub #2. Then the route follows another uphill trail
Mr. Bean #007 to Hub #3. Then a third uphill trail
Limey Bean #0023 completes the ascent. The uphill trails are accessible for 2-way traffic and hiking traffic. The trails are well groomed and built with lots of switchbacks to minimize the slope. However, it still is a rather stiff climb.
From Hub #4, the route follows the "blue" downhill trail
Jelly Bean #0025 to Hub #3. From Hub #3, the route follows the moderate "blue" downhill trail
Bean Sprout #0019 back to Hub #2. Then it follows the "blue" trail
Baked Bean #0015 to Hub #2A. From there, the route follows the "blue" trail
Magic Bean #0015 back to the start at Hub #1. The blue downhill trails have numerous jumps, berms and steep sections. These are all rollable at lower speeds. Good brakes are required.
History & Background
