Overview
Hit some Park City classics on this loop that tours both Park City and Deer Valley. Whether it be flowy downhill, technical roots, or long climbs, this loop has it all!
Description
This is a fun loop that includes some classic Park City trails, dirt roads, and old school trails. Start by riding up King Road. King Road is owned by Park City Resort, but is open to cyclists. While not the most 'fun' climb, King Road is one of the most efficient ways to ride up to the heart of the Park City trail system.
Ride up King Road and hop on
John's 99. Take this to
Empire Link and enjoy a fun little downhill. Ride up
Sam's to mid mountain and then
Tour des Suds, which takes you to
Moosebones which you can take to
Empire Pass. All in all, this is about a 2,000 foot climb with a little descending thrown in.
Once at
Empire Pass, hop on
Payroll, which is the primary downhill trail of this loop.
Payroll is fantastic, so enjoy it. Little jumps, berms, roots, rocks, twists and turns...
Payroll has it all!
Once down from
Payroll, use Mid Mountain to work your way towards the Yurt at the top of the Crescent lift. You can either take
Tommy's Two Step or the upper part of King Road. If you are a climber like me, take King Road as it is more direct!
Once at the yurt, head down the fast and flowy
Silver Queen. From there,
Trestle takes you down to
Sweeney's Switchbacks, which is the other downhill highlight of the loop.
Sweeney's Switchbacks is a classic Park City trail that is great for riders looking to get into more technical riding.
Sweeney's Switchbacks will take you back into town!
