Overview

Easy service road with challenging bit at the end!

Need to Know

I would highly suggest you have a GPS for the route and also a GPS tracker such as a SPOT, and that you do the route with a partner. Also I would not do this on an EMTB as you'll have to pick it up from time to time to cross trees and stuff. Do this trail with a light carbon bike for sure!

Description

Start from the beginning of Granite Basin road and enjoy a scenic and nice fire-road climb to the top where you'll continue onto Nate's Trail. Once there prepare for some hike a bike on and off as you need to clear over fallen trees as this used to be a service road many years ago so its very overgrown in spots.

There is one section towards the end that you'll need to scale a couple rock boulders to get back on the trail, its not too bad if you can pick up your bike easily.

Once you start hearing water from lightning creek below you're getting close to the end where you'll be rewarded with a very pretty swim hole/water fall that you'll need to cross or take an earned dip :)
Its this swim hole that gets you on lightning creek road and mark this trail done!

Boulder/rock formation that one must climb. Not hard. Annoying for some.
