The majority of the West Avon Preserve trail network is closed from December 15th through April 15th each year. One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.

Overview

Saddle Ridge is a smooth, and steady climb that takes you right to the top of Lee's Way which is a super fun descent full of berms, rollers and jumps. This a classic quick ride in the Vail area, especially early in the spring while the rest of the trails are still snowy.

Need to Know

The majority of the West Avon Preserve trail network is closed from December 15th thru April 15th each year.

Lee's Way is a downhill only trail. Hiking/riding up the trail is not permitted.

Description

Starting from the parking area on Nottingham Rd, the route starts off right beside the highway on the Avon Singletree Connector (ASC). The Avon Singletree Connector (ASC) will lead you to an intersection with Carroll's Cutoff. Take Carroll's Cutoff until it rejoins the Avon Singletree Connector (ASC). After a brief descent, you'll have an option to turn onto Saddle Ridge which you'll take.

Saddle Ridge climbs steadily about 800' to the top of Lee's Way Down. Catch your breath and get ready for a fast ride. Lee's is a high speed descent with lots of berms, jumps and rollers. At the bottom of Lee's Way Down, you can roll right into the BLT Jump Line and find yourself right back at Carroll's Cutoff again. Cruise back up Saddle Ridge for another lap from here, or head back to the car.
