Description
Boomerang offers a more direct - ie. 'downhill' style - descent accessed from approximately half way along the
Brake Through trail.
Boomerang is rated Orange/single black diamond on the Mammoth Mountain map, and this trail is primarily fast and flowy - however there are a number of more technical features - small drop-offs, roots and rocks, and two particularly steep rock-roll sections (the second being a proper 'double black' feature in my opinion), although fortunately both the rock-rolls do have a bypass, meaning this trail can still be ridden by intermediate to advanced riders with care.
Note that a short while after the first rock roll section (which has a bypass to the left through the soft gravel), the trail crosses over an access road before it almost immediately drops down the second and very steep rock-roll, which also has a nasty step/drop-off at the bottom, and is very much an advanced feature... The bypass for this second rock-roll is to the right of the main descent. Be warned!
