Overview
This fun little ride links together all the trails by the lake. They twist and wind through the forest, and you'll even have a view of the lake.
Description
Park at the large parking area on CR-9. From here, peddle out the road till you link up with the singletrack of
Kettle Trail. Hook a right on
Lateral to cross the road an link up with
Rift. Follow rift counter-clockwise but make sure to not accidentally take the Lake Spur trail. The trail here is fun with a few more technical obstacles, but nothing bad. Mostly, the track is super smooth as it winds through the forest.
At the end of
Rift you'll grab
Lateral back across the road and this time, follow it to the right. The three-way intersection is a bit wonky but if you get confused, just pull out the
MTB Project mobile app. Once you link up with
Bodfish, you'll face a steady but mild climb to the junction with
Fallen Tree.
Fallen Tree loops the campground, and you can take it either direction, though clockwise was nice. When you get by the lake, it can be a little confusing, just know that you'll need to turn away from the water to continue the loop (make sure to enjoy the views of the lake first though! The rest of the loop is really enjoyable, you just may have to double check the map to make sure you have the right path.
After
Fallen Tree, take the trail back out over the road and hook a right on ti
Bodfish. This is a general descent but you'll have a little more climbing than you expect. There is one wonky move up a ruck near the end of this but after that, you hop onto
Kettle Trail again and cruise back to your car!
