Description

This old non-motorized doubletrack trail connects the most upper parking lot of Thompson Park (Roosevelt Drive Parking Lot) with the Grading Camp Trail and Herman Gulch Rd. The upper half of the trail can be sandy and a little rutted after the rain. The lower part of the trail is quite mellow, however there is one little section near the bottom that has some water and mud almost all year round.

The old chimney from where the Chimney Trail gets it's name, is set in a very beautiful place.

The top of German Gulch is the steepest section, but it is fun coming down.

This is the one small technical section on Herman Gulch, shown in a very rare condition - dry.
