Description

This is one of two trails that connect the Maud-S Parking Lot with the Old Railway and the Maud-S Loop. Both trails pass through open grassland without trees. This is the more difficult of the two trails because it goes directly up the hill and is much steeper. On the way down it is possible to get A LOT of speed, however the trail has some large water bars and is often rutted, so do be careful. Hikers also often like to come down this way because it is quicker.

The Maud-S Parking Lot is very close to the Continental Drive Exit of I-90. Exit to the east and head left on Saddle Rock Road and the Parking Lot is about a quarter mile on the right.

Looking uphill from the Maud-S Access Trail. The hill to the left is where the left side of the Maud-S Loop Trail goes. The mountain to the right it the East Ridge of the Continental Divide and is where the Upper Maud-S Trail leads.
