Overview

One of the most ridden trails in the San Juans and for good reason.

Description

This route starts with Pass Creek climb. I would love it is moderately challenging when combining altitude plus the roots, rocks, and grade. That said, I think all can do it and is one of the best climbs in the area to really get up high. Engineer Mountain trail is arguably the most trafficked trail in this area of the San Juans. Has a good mix of flow and some rocks and roots sections as well. I would say parts of it ride more like a hiking trail than a bike trail(example- Coal Creek being more how a bike trail should ride). It is still a blast though and very long descent for the climb you do. A San Juan classic for a reason.
