This trail is most commonly ridden as part of a loop which goes up Warm Springs and down Foster Creek. If you were to do this trail as an out and back, it would be best to Park at the end of Foster Creek Rd.

Foster Creek is a beautiful non-motorized trail that connects the Foster Creek and Warm Springs drainages by going up and over the ridge. It saw little use until the summer of 2023 when it got a major revamp by the Forest Service, and now it is one of the more popular trails.

The trail begins on the Warm Springs side, just before the road becomes private. The first half of your climb up to the saddle will be on broad switchbacks up a steep grassy meadow where you get views of the valley below. The 2nd half of your climb will be in the trees, until you pop out at the top of the ridge and get some sweet views down into the Foster Creek Valley.

From the ridgetop, the trail descends into the valley, then spends most of the time following a shelf about halfway down. This section passes through intermittent clearings and for the most part has mellow gradients.

For the last mile, things get moderately steep again as the trail traverses across slopes that give spectacular views down into the lower Foster Creek Valley. If you are coming from Lost Creek, it is worth riding this first mile up for these views alone, and of course it is such a fun ride down.

At the bottom of the trail there is a bridge across the creek (built in 2023).
