Need to Know

Park City parking management is very active and predatory. If you can not find a spot in one of the two small designated lots, you may face an expensive ticket. Weekends are very busy, and parking is limited.

Description

This trail runs counterclockwise for cyclists, clockwise for hikers. You'll find the trailhead at the back right corner of the parking lot. A short switchback will take you down to the Pine Canyon Road crossing. Once through the wooden fence at Bonanza Flats, the trail will lead up to the right for a short climb.

The trail continues close to the road, and eventually turns towards the aspen grove - this is one of the biggest and most beautiful aspen groves you'll ever see. In the fall it turns gold with red tips. Unbelievable. The trail noodles around in a generally downhill direction, with two small and notable rock gardens. Then after crossing the road is another short, mild climb to the parking lot where you began. Keep your eyes open for wildlife, including moose on the loose.
