Need to Know

Parking for this trailhead can be crowded. When parking along Bogus Basin road be sure your tires are completely off the pavement to avoid any possible tickets. The parking area is very small and can only support 3-5 cars. Roadside parking is ideal for not getting blocked in.

Description

Doug Fir Loop is a shaded, forested trail in the pines, providing a rare break from the usual Boise foothills terrain. Originally a logging road and now primarily used by hikers, it's not designed with mountain bikers in mind. While the trail is rideable, expect a bumpy, less-than-ideal surface and a slower pace. If you're looking for a scenic but simple ride under tree cover, it can work—but this isn't the go-to spot for a true mountain biking experience.
