Overview
Willowdale State Forest was one of the Boston area's more popular trail systems. A few years ago, you'd be hard pressed to find parking at any of the trail heads. Now, there are many other places to ride, and the area *is* a bit beat up, but you can still get miles of fun singletrack.
Description
The singletrack starts right from the
Willowdale Meadow Parking to Trails, and criss crosses many of the roads. The vast majority rolls well, but you'll be hit with some surprise rocky climbs and technical turns. While this loop gives you good exposure to what's out there, you can certainly add more, and connect across Topsfield Rd to Bradley Palmer State Park (for more mellow riding), or across Boston St (Rt 1) and get over to Georgetown Rowley State Forest, or you could follow the Bay Circuit trail and end up south of Boston. You could also start/end this ride at the other main parking area, on Linebrook Rd.
