Access to the Trailhead is via McClellan Creek Road that begins off John's St, one block East of the Montana City Exit on I-15. There is parking but no facilities at the Trailhead.
Description
Casey Meadows Trail is one of three trails that leave from the south end of McClellan Creek Road, and this one follows the East Fork of the McClellan Creek up the bottom of a picturesque valley. The views get better the higher you go. The trail can be ridden in both directions, although the climb is considered strenuous. The trail crosses the creek a few times, and although it's not a large creek, there is usually a way to walk across without getting wet feet if you need it. The first crossing has a small footbridge that is little more than a flat log.
This trail is often used as an access point for
Casey Peak, however it is much steeper than the alternative way (via McClellan Creek Trail) so this trail is more commonly used as a descent. Most of the trail is relatively smooth and non-technical, however there are a few places in the middle with some moderate rock gardens that might challenge less experienced riders, especially if ascending. The trail is usually accessed from the top via Montgomery Park Trail. The junction is well signposted and in a clearing beside the creek with great views of the surrounding mountains, including
Casey Peak.
