Overview
So you like Gravel? Test your metal on the True Grit Epic Gravel Route. You'll Circumnavigate Jarvis Peak, West Mountain Peak and travel up and over the West Mountains and back to the Gunlock Road and back to Santa Clara. The roads are rough and remote but when you're done you can say you've got the Grit.

Most all of this route is remote; you'll need to be fully self supported and self sufficient.
Description
Start at the Santa Clara City Building, travel south thru Green Valley to Bloomington. In Bloomington head west to
Apex Mine Road past the Bearclaw parking lot. Continue up the
Apex Mine Road and fork west on
West Mountain Road (don't miss this turnoff or you'll hit a dead end at the Apex Mine. Climb
West Mountain Road until you get to
Bulldog Pass Gravel Road and fork left (southwest). This road follows the powerlines out the canyon thru the West and Beaver Dam Mountains to Old Utah Highway 91. Turn right (north) on Hwy 91 for about 3 miles then off the pavement back onto gravel at the
Lytle Ranch Dirt Road to go west, hang a right on
Indian Trail Gravel Road continue along this road that skirts the base of the West Mountains for another 18 miles, fork right again at Motoqua Road and head east back down the canyon back to Gunlock Road. Take the Gunlock paved road back to Gunlock and celebrate your accomplishment with a beverage.
