Features Technical

Overview

Some of the best technical cross-country trails in the Truckee Tahoe area are those that were originally built for moto use in the 90s. Thankfully, both Animal Crackers and Animal are exactly that! Climb up the easy grade of Animal Crackers and drop down the flowy corners of Animal for a great lunchtime loop that doesn't see much traffic.

Description

This route begins in a parking lot with a pit toilet. From there, Animal Crackers climbs up Prosser Hill at a largely gentle grade. From the summit shoulder, Animal then takes a fast and flowy section of trail with a few rock gardens. Long straight sections let you carry high speed amid the pine trees. This trail ends at another parking area, but a short fire road completes the loop back to where you started.
