Overview
This challenging loop can be ridden in either direction, but most prefer clockwise. Climbing
Big Bang is tough but the views are awesome! Once on top of Dry Lake Hills, the flow is awesome and there's almost always a breeze to cool you off!
Description
From the Schultz Creek parking lot, continue to the base of the
Big Bang trail and begin climbing.
Big Bang will take you to the top of Dry Lake Hills. It's mostly climbable for experienced riders, but a few short pitches may require pushing. The views looking out over Flagstaff from this trail are stunning. Once on top of the hills, you'll continue along on
Big Bang trail, traversing through some fun flowy sections until you connect with Brookbank trail.
The junction with Brookbank is in a beautiful meadow bordered by aspens. From here, you'll start to descend down Brookbank trail on a fast-flowy section, with some steep sections and a few rock moves. Once at the bottom of Brookbank, you'll join the
Rocky Ridge trail.
Rocky Ridge is a classic Flagstaff trail that has withstood the test of time. True to its name, there are many fun techy sections as you traverse along the base of Dry Lake Hills, and some great chunky descents in this direction as you return to Schultz Creek trailhead.
