This is also part of the Sun Circle Trail. It follows the south bank road of the Arizona Canal.

The route starts at the Arizona Canal crossing of Hayden Road (near Indian Bend Road). The trail follows the south bank of the canal for 15 miles on a combination of dirt and crumbling pavement. Some spots are a little washboarded. There are gentle ups and downs, but mostly level, slightly increasing elevation from west to east.

The canal passes through farmland on the west end, and then, between Mesa Drive and Beeline Highway, the trail passes a landfill (where there are lots of birds).

The trail ends at the Bush Highway at the parking for the Granite Reef area. There are ducks on the water.

The Maricopa trail continues across Bush Highway through the Hawes trails area. The Sun Circle trail continues along the bank of the South Canal.
