The Gate at Porters Crossing is usually open, but may be locked. Check before riding.
One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.
Overview
Most of Eagle Mountain is XC oriented, but
Shooting Gallery will give the downhill riders something to look forward to. Unless you can get someone with a truck or 4x4 to shuttle you, this is the best route to lap
Shooting Gallery. The trail is narrow, steep and loose, with sharp rocks, and some rocky drops.
Description
This loop starts at the Mountain Ranch Bike park where you can park between Jacob's Way and Sparrow Hawk Road on Golden Eagle Road. Head south up the bike park access path (gravel) to the ridgeline. Head southeast on
Cow Tracks to the rock pile parking area. Continue southeast on the OHV dirt road to connect to
Jackrabbit. Take
Jackrabbit south to the top of
Shooting Gallery and enjoy the stellar view of Utah Lake and all the Eagle Mountain trails before you drop in.
Look before you leap on the steep, narrow, loose, features on
Shooting Gallery and don't crash on the sharp rocks. Finish at Porter's Crossing dirt road and head back north to the same (paved). There may be a gate there to stop trucks, but you should always be able to get a bike though. Hang a left on East Golden Road and back to the Eagle Mountain Bike Park where you started.
History & Background
This trail is located on Utah State Trust Land (SITLA) and was temporarily closed due to a potentially dangerous shooting area with litter and debris being left near the bottom of the
Shooting Gallery Trail. Be a good steward and leave no trash behind.
