Overview

This loop or close variations of it have been used by the Midweek Race Series for their XC races usually held early in the Spring. This loop will give you good feel for the Eagle Mountain area as the trails generally wind around the perimeter of the main Eagle Mountain trail system. This loop should take around 1 hour for fast riders and a bit more if you stop to rest, snack, or enjoy the view. At about 6.5 miles you'll pass the famous 'Prayer Flags' viewpoint that everyone takes pictures of.

Description

Park at the Hidden Hollow parking lot that Eagle Mountain City built, head southeast on to Rock-a-Billy to the rock pile parking area, continue southeast on the doubletrack dirt road to Roadrunner Trail. Hang a right (south) on roadrunner singletrack until you get to the Acme junction, stay left to continue south on Acme to merge to Wile E. Coyote. Take Wile E. Coyote south to the south tip (upper end) of the shallow mountain valley and tilled farm land. Continue south up the hill and slightly southwest on rough dirt road doubletrack for a short section until you fork right (west) up 411.

Switchback up 411 until you crest the hill and can drop down Eastwood. Advanced riders may wish to continue up to the top to drop down Fistful of Dollars (an awesome DH alternate). Merge onto Deadwood and make sure not to go down on the boring Hidden Hollow Doubletrack as Deadwood is way more fun. At the lower end of the valley, deadwood ends and you'll cross the drainage and fork right onto Billy Idol/Treadstone. You'll climb up traversing and switchbacking until you get to Treadstone (Prayer Flags Loop). This is a good spot to enjoy the view and take a break if needed.

Drop down Supersonic back down to the valley floor and hang a left (west) along the valley floor doubletrack to tie to Nirvana heading west. Climb partly up the side hill, cross the valley floor again and then rip down the northwest valley edge down Nirvana. Cross the field near Pony Express Parkway, and head back southeast on Brass Monkey. When you finish Brass monkey, you'll be close to your car. If you still want more, climb Creed for a little extra. If not, head east back to the Hidden Hollow parking lot where you started.
