Need to Know

You have to pay for the chair lift but you can park for free

Once at the bottom you can pick up the Wharehuanui trail or ride out to the end of the road to Malaghans Rd. Coronet Peak offers a shuttle pickup at this point during the season. You can pre-arrange a shuttle ahead of time (recommended), or just show up on the hour and hope they show up and also have room.

Description

Experience an exhilarating mountain bike descent in Queenstown with The Dirty Four, a thrilling compilation of four top-tier trails: Dirt Serpent, Rude Rock, Morning Glory, and Hot Rod. This route delivers over 1200 meters of seamless flow, featuring berms, jumps, drops, and breathtaking vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys.

Your adventure begins atop Coronet Peak. You can either hop on a shuttle to the chairlift base or pedal your way up the road, followed by a chairlift ride to the summit.

The journey kicks off with Dirt Serpent, a meticulously crafted trail that winds down the mountain with smooth curves and customizable features. Next, Rude Rock offers a timeless, natural path that hugs the rugged terrain, providing fast and enjoyable riding. Crossing the road leads you to Morning Glory, a lively, flowing trail with excellent jumps suited for rolling or launching. The finale, Hot Rod, is a fresh addition that ramps up the pace and flair of the descent.

For advanced riders craving downhill thrills, The Dirty Four is an essential Queenstown experience. Its widespread acclaim is well-earned, delivering non-stop excitement that will leave you eager to tackle it again.
