A great climb up to the ridge road with great views of the Salinas valley along the way.

Fort Ord National Monument trails are closed from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.

Description

Trail 35 connects Engineer Canyon Road to the end of Manzanita Road and is part of a nice loop starting from Creekside and connecting out to the 70s trails.

It's fun in both directions and has a lot of nice grade reversals as you climb up the contour lines to the ridge.

There's a really nice view out engineer canyon, looking out into the Salinas Valley as you climb. The trail has pretty good sight lines but is very popular with hikers and trail runners so keep on the lookout for other trail users.
