Description
Located within the Branched Oak State Recreation Area, Branched Oak Area 7 "BO7" is home of the Cornhusker State Games and one of the better trails in the Lincoln area offering plenty of short climbs, fast descents, and a good mix of tight corners.
To access the trail, proceed to the west entrance of Branched Oak SRA. At the entrance station, take a left turn onto the gravel road (N 126th St.), then take the first right hand turn at the crest of the hill. The trailhead is located on the left (west) side of the road after the second road crossing. Picnic tables and shade trees are available at the trailhead.
The trail is designed to be ridden in the clockwise direction. Starting from the trailhead, continue west down the hill to the prairie section. Directional arrows are located throughout the trail. While the trail is designed and maintained for mountain bikers; hiking, trail running, and equestrian users are also permitted. Please be alert and yield to other trail users.
The BO7 trail crew is constantly updating and maintaining the trail. New features and trail re-routes happen periodically. The BO7 trail crew works closely with park officials and THOR to maintain and improve the trails, please do not make any unapproved modifications to the trail.
"Dirt Church" is an unofficial ride that occurs Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Riders are encouraged to come enjoy the trail on Wednesdays.
A bike repair station is located to the south in the parking area shared with the Archery range off the main paved roadway beyond the entrance station. The nearest vault toilet is to the northwest in Area 8. Drinking water and additional restrooms are available in the Middle Oak Creek Area 4 campground, south of the trails.
