Overview

Beaver Dam is almost 100% singletrack and provides some of the best crafted trails in the Triangle. All tracks are conscientiously constructed to provide good drainage that allows the trails to reopen soon after rain. Three trails leave from the parking lot ( Inner Loop, Outer Loop, West Loop), one more difficult and longer trail ( South Loop) and one short advanced trail ( Drop Zone). All the trails are contained within the park and are well signed.

Description

From the trailhead, go right for Inner Loop and Outer Loop, which are concentric to each other. Go straight and then left for West Loop. About 1/2 way around West is the trailhead for South Loop. You must cross the road by the guard shack to reach the South Loop trailhead.

About 1.2 miles into the South Loop, Drop Zone turns off to the left. All the trails finish exactly where they started. Each trail is marked by distance markers that signify about 0.2 mile per increments while each has a number indicator in the 100's. For example Inner Loop starts at 200 and finishes at 205. Keep the distance markers in mind if you need medical attention.
