This is one of the few downhill-only trails in the area. Be aware of faster riders approaching from behind.

Description

This trail is swoopy and whoopy and a whole lotta fun. With hand built rollers, table top jumps and countless berms you are sure to find your flow whizzing down this famous Bend trail. Visitors come from all over to ride the Whoops trail. You can climb up to it from Phil's trailhead or shuttle to road 300, climb the fire road that parallels it and zip down multiple times.

Located just West of 'road 300' near Phil's Trailhead, this gem of a trail is almost 2 miles of jumps and berms on a flat to downhill trail. While some of the features may seem a little intimidating to some, they are formed in a manner that allows riders from all proficiencies to thoroughly enjoy the ride. The lips are the jumps have gradual transitions and there are no 'do or die' jumps that first-timers would need to scout first.

The trailhead is accessible via many different other trails in the Phil's network including Helipad, Storm King, Upper Whoops, Skyliner and the 'Whoops Climb', which is the road starting at Road 300 and parallels Lower Whoops.

Prime riding time on Lower Whoops is typically early and late in the season as the dirt dries up in the Summer and gets very sandy and loose.

On Friday nights during the season (April-Oct) you'll find locals from factory pro racers to young kids out enjoying 'happy hour' on Lower Whoops from about 5pm-dusk.
