Description

Another great section of the Summit County Recreational Path system! This segment uses the historic Denver, South Park, and Pacific narrow gauge rail grade. Rail grades guarantee a nice, smooth ride with easy hills!

From the Copper Mountain ski area, pick up the path near Highway 91 and cross at the stop light. Cross Tenmile Creek at a bridge. To the right, there is a short path that dead ends. So turn left and follow the path past beaver ponds and lakes. In early season the path might be slightly flooded in spots. It's quite flat for a few miles, so you'll have to actually pedal a bit (might be a novelty if you started at Vail Pass!).

The trail steepens a bit and is very pleasant as it goes right next to the stream through woods. End in Frisco, where you have many options to continue, if you like.
