This ride starts at the Rim Crest entrance but could also be started from Carbon Canyon Park or even the east ranger station entrance. From Rim Crest, get onto
South Ridge and head west (left) up a steep but short climb towards the glider station. Past the glider station, kick it into a bigger gear and enjoy the fast roll-overs to
Telegraph Canyon.
Head east on
Telegraph Canyon up the canyon a few miles and keep an eye out for the
Sycamore Trail signpost. Turn left onto
Sycamore Trail and settle in to a steady, sometimes steep, climb up to
North Ridge.
Turn right onto
North Ridge and follow it all the way to the top of
McDermont Singletrack. Take this high-speed singletrack down to
Telegraph Canyon and turn left to get to Four Corners.
From Four Corners, take
Raptor Ridge, until it turns into a fire road (after a short climb) and continue down 100 yards until you come to a singletrack entrance on the left, which is
Faultline Trail.
Faultline Trail is a great, high-speed, toboggan-run like singletrack that drops into a fire road, just short of the east ranger station.
Once on the fire road, watch for a quick left (and take it) onto another fire road that turns into
Aliso Canyon Trail. Plan for some good singletrack climbing that meanders up until you get to a "T" intersection at
Sidewinder Trail.
Turn left onto
Sidewinder Trail and ride until you come to another "T." Turn right and enjoy the amazing
Bane Ridge Trail, which is a mix of semi-technical drops, sweeping turns, and high-speed, downhill sections before dumping you into the Equestrian Staging Area.
Once in the open staging area, make a quick right and look for the
Equestrian Center Connector singletrack, which connects the equestrian center with the main road to the ranger station.
Turn left on the main (paved) road, make another left at the "T," and work your way to the
South Ridge fire road entrance on the right, and climb your way to
Telegraph Spur, and turn right to get you back to Four Corners.
To finish this ride, take the
Bovinian Delight Trail from Four Corners back onto
South Ridge and head west back to Rim Crest.
