Description
The Reedy Creek Lake Trail begins off Reedy Creek Parkway just before the rangers' residences. However, there is no parking here. Instead, park at the Reedy Creek entrance off Harrison Avenue and make your way down the road to the trailhead. Be sure to stay on the road and trail as you'll be passing private homes.
The trail is a dirt road and starts out heading through a wooded area. In about a quarter-mile, to the left of the trail, visitors will see the ruins of an old building, probably an old farm house from before the park's creation. Unfortunately, this structure isn't in the Stories in Stone book, so no one's really sure what used to be here.
Continuing on the trail, it will start to open up as it approaches its namesake - Reedy Creek Lake. This small man-made lake is very scenic, especially in the fall when the leaves change. Fishing in the lake is permitted, but swimming is not.
Past the lake, the trail ends at
Reedy Creek Multiuse Trail. Turn around and head back or take
Reedy Creek Multiuse Trail to extend your outing.
